Mid-Career Research Fellowship
Deadline: Monday, November 11, 2024 11:59pm Apply NowThe Mid-Career Research Fellowship contributes to a mid-career faculty member's scholarly growth by providing a full academic year of release time from teaching and regular service obligations. This fellowship provides faculty members in the humanities at the Associate Professor level an opportunity to focus on a post-tenure research project of the kind required for promotion to Full Professor.

Hall Center Resident Faculty Fellowship
Deadline: Monday, November 11, 2024 11:59pm Apply NowThe Hall Center's Humanities Resident Fellowships provide one semester of release time from teaching and service, taken in the Fall or Spring semester, so that awardees can focus entirely on research or creative work and scholarly engagement.

National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipend Nomination
Deadline: Monday, August 19, 2024 11:59pmNational Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipends support full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two consecutive, uninterrupted months. Successful applicants receive a stipend of $8,000. The Hall Center for the Humanities is the nominating body for the University of Kansas. Each year, one application can be nominated for inclusion in the national competition.

Faculty Research Travel Grant
Deadline: Monday, October 14, 2024 11:59pmFaculty Research Travel Grants provide KU faculty members with financial support for humanities-oriented research (such as archival work, fieldwork, or interviews) that requires domestic or international travel. Funds can be used for transportation, lodging, meals reimbursement, and project-related expenses (e.g., photocopying, access fees).

Vice Chancellor for Research and Friends of the Hall Center Book Publication Awards
Deadline: Monday, October 28, 2024 11:59pmThese awards provide financial support to aid in the publication of a manuscript based on humanities research written by a KU faculty member and accepted by a refereed press. The authors of manuscripts selected for these awards receive up to $1,500 for use towards the publication of their books. The awards can be used to reimburse expenses such as illustration costs, the production of maps or charts, the preparation of online databases as supplements to physical books, and direct subventions required by presses.
