Visiting Regional Faculty Program

OVERVIEW

The Visiting Regional Humanities Faculty program is open to faculty who hold full-time appointments at universities, community colleges, and liberal arts/private colleges in the state of Kansas or the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Awards will provide support for a short-term residency of 3-4 weeks at KU, either during the semester or the summer. Visiting faculty will receive a stipend of $5,000 (to cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence while in Lawrence), an office in the Hall Center, access to the Hall Center’s Grant Development Office and the KU Center for Teaching Excellence, KU Library privileges, and the opportunity to interact with KU faculty in their fields of study. In return, visiting faculty should work on a project related to humanities scholarship, humanities teaching improvement, or a combination of both during their time in residence and prepare to present their work at the Hall Center for a public audience during the 24-25 school year. Eligible projects include but are not limited to conference papers, publishable scholarly articles, substantial course revision, development of a new course, and digital projects.
